In this edition of "empty nest adventures" we take a trip to the Hard Rock Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Immediately what sets this location apart from others in Atlantic City is its connection to music. I love music and this blend of food, fun, and music is right up my alley.

There are lots of visual musical memories here at this Hard Rock, with a lot of Jersey connections. From Sinatra to Bruce to the Asbury Jukes and Bon Jovi - definitely check out the Hall of Fame items on display when you go.

Another great exhibit we stopped into was the rock "art" exhibit, which features real works of art from musical legends, along with other artists work on display. Definitely worth a quick tour through.

Another great part of Hard Rock is their live concerts. The best musical acts are now coming through Atlantic City at the Hard Rock. We saw Cheap Trick there in concert when we went and it was fantastic. You definitely want to check out their concert schedule to see who is coming.

Atlantic City is not a far ride at all from Ocean, Burlington or Monmouth Counties, so it's an easy trip. Indoor parking is just $10 for the night.

There are lots of restaurants to choose from including their famous Hard Rock Cafe, which we ate at and enjoyed. There are two sections to the Hard Rock Cafe so make sure you pick either the main room or the boardwalk. We had dinner in the boardwalk section, which is quieter and smaller.

We had fun gambling and yes they have a smokers section set aside if that's your style. Be sure to get your "Premiere Wild Card" when you go for a chance at "extras" for playing. It's free and you will see kiosks to get yours when you come in - all you need is your driver's license.

One of the big attractions within the Hard Rock is the "Sugar Factory" which is great for families and parties. Definitely a place to satisfy your biggest "sweet tooth".

This is one of my favorite spots in Atlantic City and a place for music lovers like myself to enjoy time and time again. My wife and I rocked out - it was a true empty nest adventure!

FYI: Yes, they have the Hard Rock Shop for all your rock souvenirs, plus many other fine shops to go and do some shopping at within the casino. We did not stay overnight, but rooms appear nice and reasonably priced, especially during the week.
