"Anything would be a blessing, but we usually raise between $10,000 and $20,000," said Jill Houston, Vice President of OceanCares. The foundation supports programs provided through Ocean Mental Health Services in Ocean County.

"Once the money is raised then we put it where it is mostly needed, whether it be post-traumatic stress for our vets, or our Sandy victims, or abused people," Houston said.

Houston added, there are so many different sections of mental illness that the foundation tries to put the money where it is most needed.

The Spring Gift Auction is being held Monday, April 7, at the Clarion Hotel in Toms River. Doors open at 5:30pm. Tickets are $25 and include a buffet dinner, cash bar and raffle prizes. The grand prize raffle includes a 50" TV, a $250 Shop Rite Gift Certificate, or a $200 Kohls Gift Certificate.
