Convicted sex offender from Jackson accused of lewd act in a park
54-year-old Miguel Flores of Jackson was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Allentown after allegedly engaging in a sex act at Pete Sensi Park off South Main Street as people were walking by, according to Borough Police.
Flores is charged with two counts each of criminal sexual contact and lewdness. An investigation determined Flores had a 1997 conviction in Monmouth County for sitting in public places and performing lewd acts in front of girls and women he didn't know, authorities say in post on the Allentown Police Department's Facebook page.
Two people reported the alleged incident at police headquarters around 2:46 p.m., providing authorities with a description.
When Patrolman Anthony Rando responded to the park and spotted Flores sitting in a vehicle, authorities said Flores tried to put his vehicle in reverse and leave, but Rando blocked it with his patrol car.
Flores claimed he was urinating in public, not pleasuring himself as witnesses reported, according to authorities.
Authorities say several people have been coming forward stating they have seen Flores wandering around Allentown the last few days. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact Rando at firstname.lastname@example.org.
