Toms River WINS! Now Headed To The Little League Softball World Series

It was an exciting comeback rally that lifted the ladies from the Toms River Little League Softball team to victory on Thursday in Bristol, Connecticut.

Toms River defeated Minersville, Pennsylvania, at the Mid-Atlantic Championship in Bristol, Connecticut, Thursday afternoon to claim their ticket to North Carolina and a chance at becoming Little League World Champions.

According to the Asbury Park Press, in a story posted from Yahoo Sports, "Sophia Tolentino scored the tie-breaking run on a throwing error, and Gia Gatto followed with an RBI single, powering a four-run final-inning rally that lifted Toms River to a 5-3 victory over Team Pennsylvania for the region championship - and a berth in the Little League Softball World Series."

The tournament has been bringing together talented players since 1974, and it's amazing to see the skill, heart, and determination these kids bring to the field. From big home runs to incredible catches and unforgettable finishes, there's always something exciting happening.

Where Is The Little League Softball World Series Played?

Stallings Stadium at Elm Street Park in Greenville, North Carolina, is home to the Little League Softball World Series, where some of the best young softball players from around the world compete every summer.

According to reports, the Toms River Little League softball team, will begin championship play on Sunday, August 2nd.

A team from New Jersey won the Little League Softball World Series in 2014. Robbinsville Little League, Robbinsville, New Jersey, was the winner 12 years ago.
