We're six days worth of games into the lacrosse season and already some teams have begun to make a name for themselves, even though there isn't much movement in this week's Brielle Orthopedics Boys Lacrosse Top 10.

The changes this week are confined to teams who were already ranked in the preseason top 10 and the shuffling is minor. There were a handful of ranked matchups to open the season and the results of those left teams mostly standing pat.

Brielle Orthopedics Shore Conference Boys Lacrosse Top 10, April 6

1. Rumson-Fair Haven (2-1). Last week: No. 1

The Bulldogs began the season with conniving wins over Lenape (12-0) and Red Bank Catholic (16-5) before an 8-7 loss to state No. 2 Seton Hall Prep in a matchup of top-five teams in New Jersey. Their Shore Conference competition ramps up over the next eight days with three games against ranked teams. Junior midfielder Cole Cashion is off to a strong start with eight goals. Next seven days: 4/6 vs. No. 5 Shore; 4/8 @ No. 7 Howell; 4/12 vs. St. Peter"s Prep at Rutgers.

2. Manasquan (2-0). Last week: No. 2

After opening up the season with a 13-2 road win over Moorestown, the Warriors used a fast start to defeat rival Wall, 9-6, and - barring something completely unforeseen - all but wrap up the Class B South division title. Junior attackman James Farinacci has a game-high eight goals through two games. Next seven days: 4/6 @ Jackson Liberty; 4/8 vs. Holmdel; 4/12 @ Salesianum (Del.); 4/13 vs. Lacey.

3. Southern (2-0). Last week: No. 3

The Rams eased into the season with a 13-2 win over Holy Spirit and a 21-1 victory over Central, but the difficulty ramps up significantly in the two weeks two games vs. ranked teams plus a non-conference game against a returning sectional champion. The offensive attack has been balanced with senior attackman Ryan Sininsky (6), junior midfielder Joey DeYoung (5), and senior attackman Jack Kolbe (5) leading the scoring and junior attackman Hayden Lucas leading in points (1g, 9a for 10 points). Next seven days: 4/6 @ Brick Memorial; 4/7 vs. No 6 CBA; 4/9 @ Ocean City; 4/11 vs. Clearview; 4/13 vs. Jackson Memorial.

4. Wall (3-1). Last week: No. 4

The Crimson Knights are off to a 3-1 start and have been impressive outside of a 9-6 loss to No. 2 Manasquan in which they fell behind 5-0 in the first quarter. Wall shut out Barnegat, 12-0, beat St. Joseph (Metuchen), 10-3, and rolled to an 18-1 win over Ocean. Junior attackman John McCurry (11g, 2a), senior midfielder Matt Dollive (9g, 7a), and junior midfielder Connor Moore (8g, 4a) have led the way offensively. Next seven days: 4/6 @ Lacey; 4/9 vs. Columbia; 4/11 vs. Jackson Liberty; 4/13 vs. St. Rose.

5. Shore (2-0). Last week: No. 5

It has been a strong start to the season for the Blue Devils with a pair of impressive wins in the opening week. Shore started the season with a 14-5 win over a solid Monroe team and then shut down a talented Red Bank squad, 12-1. The Blue Devils' leading scorers have been senior midfielder Jamie Mazzacco (8g, 5a), sophomore midfielder Sam Madalone (8g, 7a), and senior attackman Carson Cooke (7g, 4a). A measuring-stick game is on tap for Wednesday night against the No. 1 in the conference. Next seven days: 4/6 @ No. 1 Rumson-Fair Haven; 4/13 vs. Neptune.

6. Christian Brothers Academy (2-2). Last week: No. 7

The Colts move up one spot from the preseason rankings. They suffered an 11-10 double-overtime loss to Bergen in their first game, responded with wins over Moorestown (12-4) and Long Brach (14-0), and then took a 9-6 loss vs. New York's Iona Prep. The Colts have multiple first-year starters and the question in the preseason was who would step up to fill the offensive void alongside established junior Nick Blalock (7g, 8a). The answer so far has been sophomore Ryan Martin (9g, 4a) and junior Ian Macrae (6g, 3a). The Colts have a chance to make a big jump in the rankings with two top-10 games over the next week. Next seven days: 4/6 @ Middletown North; 4/7 @ No. 3 Southern; 4/9 @ Pope John; 4/11 vs. No. 8 Middletown South; 4/13 vs. Colts Neck.

7. Howell (2-1). Last week: No. 6

The Rebels move down one spot from the preseason rankings after escaping with a one-goal win over No. 10 Manalapan and losing to East Brunswick in a non-conference game before rebounding with an 18-3 win over Freehold Township. The Rebels will take their crack at top-ranked Rumson this week and also have a big divisional battle with Middletown South looming. Junior attackman Nate Lorenzo (9g, 6a) leads the team in points while Vin Burns (3g, 9a), Doug MacKenzie (7g, 2a), and Jack Marich (6g) are also off to strong starts for an as-expected balanced Howell offense. Next seven days: 4/8 vs. No. 1 Rumson-Fair Haven; 4/9 @ Marlboro 4/11 @ Shawnee; 4/13 vs. No. 8 Middletown South.

8. Middletown South (3-0). Last week: No. 9

The Eagles are off to a strong start and boosted their case to move up one spot with a 10-4 win over No. 10 Manalapan. They also scored an 8-4 win over Old Bridge and a 15-0 victory over Colts Neck. Senior midfielder Luke Rohrmann has led the way with 11 goals and four assists while John Beyer (4g, 3a), Colin Gallagher (6g, 2a), Brendan Gilbert (4g, 2a), and Steve Kirchner (3g, 2a) have stepped forward to provide consistent offense. Next seven days: 4/6 vs. Freehold Township; 4/9 vs. Red Bank Catholic; 4/11 @ No. 6 CBA; 4/13 @ No. 7 Howell.

9. Red Bank (0-1). Last week: No. 8

The Bucs had only one game through the first week and being that it was a 12-1 loss to No. 5 Shore, they move down one spot. Not much to go off of so far for Red Bank but with Henry Spencer, Ryder Villani, and Andrew Pape leading the way, the wins should be on their way quite soon. Next seven days: 4/6 @ Ocean; 4/7 vs. Glen Ridge; 4/9 @ St. Joseph (Metuchen); 4/11 vs. Point Boro.

10. Manalapan (1-2). Last week: No. 10

The Braves are 1-2 to begin the season but given that their losses are to No. 7 Howell and No. 8 Middletown South and they were competitive in both games, we are giving them another week to occupy the final spot in the Top 10. Those aforementioned defeats were 10-9 to Howell and 10-4 to Middletown South. They defeated Marlboro, 16-3. Sophomore midfielder Marc Stefanelli (7g, 3a) leads in points and sophomore midfielder Grant Carle has eight goals and has won 38 of 49 face-offs. Next seven days: 4/8 vs. Long Branch; 4/9 @ Lawrence; 4/11 @ Colts Neck.

Keep an eye on:

Holmdel (3-0): The Hornets have not been tested in wins over Brick (14-1), St. John Vianney (13-2), and Brick Memorial (14-1) but have some big games coming up with RBC and Manasquan on the schedule.

St. Rose (4-0): New starters, no problem. Despite graduating many of their top scorers from last season the Purple Roses are off to a 4-0 start with victories over Middletown North (4-1), Jackson Liberty (12-4), Jackson Memorial (5-4), and Barnegat (12-7).
