With two weeks worth of rumors fueling excitement, the "is it, or isn't it?" speculation officially comes to an end today - Trader Joe's is coming to Brick.

You'll remember two weeks ago when Shawn Michaels shared the news that speculation about Trader Joe's coming to Brick Plaza was starting to run through the community.

Later that day we heard from a Trader Joe's official who confirmed their interest in the project, but declined to comment further, saying that, "...plans are not finalized".

Well, today we get another official commentary on the project, this time coming from the Township of Brick, with the Asbury Park Press reporting that permits have been issued to Trader Joe's to renovate the former Ethan Allen space at Brick Plaza.

According to the APP article, Brick Mayor John Ducey had this to say:

"After years of work trying to get Trader Joe's to come to our great town I was so happy to see the zoning permit be submitted for a tenant fit up for their newest store. . .Trader Joe's is the most requested business from residents from every part of town and to able to see it come to fruition is such a wonderful thing."

Now, we wait.

Obviously, there will be a lot of work to change the old Ethan Allen to a Trader Joe's, but we'll keep you in the loop as the project moves forward.
