Brick Township man accused of underage sex assault

Bail is set at $250,000 for a Brick Townsihp man accused of sexually violating a 12-year-old girl in 2014.

Samuel Holdbrook, 28, is charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and child endangerment, according to information from the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.

Investigators allege that the girl, age 12 at the time of the incidents believed to have taken place between January and February 2014, was already acquainted with Holdbrook.

He was apprehended at 8:30 PM Monday at Brick Township Police Headquarters. In imposing bail, Ocean County Superior Court Judge Frances Hodgson stipulated no 10-percent payment option for release, and no contact with the victim, in accordance with Nicole's Law.
