Berkeley Township Tragedy: Man Fatally Shoots Ex-Girlfriend, Her Parents, Then Himself
A horrific event in Ocean County has left a community stunned as a New Jersey man kills his former partner and her parents in Berkeley Township before taking his own life.

According to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, 37-year-old Vaughn Stewart of Maplewood, New Jersey, killed his ex 38-year-old Deonna Stewart. The couple has three children.
According to authorities, Stewart also gunned down the woman's parents, Allan Russell, 61, and Michelle Russell, 60.
According to officials, after killing the three members of the family, the Maplewood man then turned the gun on himself, leaving all four dead.
According to Patch, the incident "occurred on Fairwood Drive in the Mill Creek area at about 5 a.m. Monday."
Authorities added that the couple's three children were in the home at the time of the incident. The Patch report added, "The minor children are currently in the care of the Department of Child Protection and Permanency."
The Mill Creek section of Berkeley Township is a quiet neighborhood in the eastern part of town near the Toms River and Barnegat Bay. It is named after Mill Creek, a small waterway that runs through the area. These days, it’s mostly a peaceful residential spot, known for its nearby wetlands, woods, and easy access to nature.
