So, this is kind of awkward.

In a situation that we've seen a number of times recently, the Sonic Drive-In on Shrewsbury Avenue in Tinton Falls suddenly closed last week.

According to my colleague Nicole Murray on our sister station 94.3 The Point, the Sonic not only closed without any kind of advance notice, but wasted no time in removing everything from the signage to the ordering stalls.

Some reports even suggest that the corporate office didn't even know that the location closed.

Which could explain why, as recently as this afternoon, the location's Facebook page was still posting about specials.

And it definitely hasn't gone unnoticed, as an astute user points out on this post:

I don't understand why you are posting about a place that has CLOSED! Seriously, the building is vacant, all of the drive-up booths have been dismantled, and the menu board is laying around on the ground like yesterday's trash.

Yikes!

All that being said, I'm putting about 50/50 odds on at least that post, if not the page all together, going away in the not too distant future. You know, in about the time that it would take for a corporate social media manager to catch wind of it.

In the meantime, you can get your closest Sonic fix on Route 9 in Howell.
