Wow! Nearly Half of NJ Students Are Using AI to Do Schoolwork! Is This a Good Thing?
Artificial Intelligence, aka AI, is a game changer in the world of technology. AI isn't just for computer science majors; it is becoming a part of everyone's life, and for some, it's helping, and for others, it may be enabling.

When I say "enabling," I am referring to students. Students are using artificial intelligence to do their schoolwork for them. This seems like a problem that could hurt these students in the future when they are not learning, only asking a computer to do the work for them.
According to a new survey/poll done by Preply, an online language learning app that connects experienced tutors to learners worldwide, they surveyed American students about their AI usage habits in school.

According to Preply, "Today, AI tools are becoming everyday learning companions for students across the U.S., from helping brainstorm essays to solving equations. But speed isn’t everything. True learning takes more than just quick answers; it takes guidance, empathy, and real understanding, and students in some states are missing out more than in others."
AI Poll Results and Highlights from New Jersey:
"AI use score" ranks 15th highest in the U.S.
40% use it daily (4th highest in the U.S.)
80% use it weekly
Students use it for 182 minutes per week, on average
87% use ChatGPT (6th highest in the U.S)
