The middle of a sweltering Ocean County summer is definitely not a bad time to open up a new sweet shop in the middle of Point Pleasant Beach.

Not only did a new sweet shop just open on Bay Avenue, but it's a familiar address for ice cream lovers.

You might remember about two years ago when Toms River native Alexa Hesse added a storefront to her popular ice cream truck business and opened Lexilicious at 512 Bay Avenue.

Earlier this month, Lexilicious announced on their Facebook page that a new location is in the works while the ice cream truck business booms.

In the last week, eagle-eyed ice cream lovers noticed that new signs went up on the same store front and Haven's Sweet Shop started welcoming customers.

Open for about a week now, Haven's Sweet Shop is not only scooping ice cream, but they're also offering some delicious looking treats, like these decadent looking pretzels, one of my chocolate weaknesses:

Haven's is also doing something unique (and really smart!).

You know how you can go to your favorite brewery or winery and get a flight of smaller samples if you're having a hard time deciding?

Well, that's exactly what Haven's is doing, but with ice cream instead of alcohol:

Clever, guys, very clever!

You can check out Haven's Sweet Shop at 512 Bay Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach.

If you want to check out some of the treats that they're serving up, just click here for their official Facebook page.
