It's so refreshing to see in such a hard time, with businesses closing due to Covid-19, a new business opening. I'm excited to check it out.

"For the Record" is located 118 S. Main Street in Forked River, according to the patch.com. You can't miss it, the store front is purple. It's a store all about music and a vinyl record store. "For the Record" just opened on Friday, just in time for your last minute Christmas gifts. The store has music memorabilia, t-shirts, posters, collectibles, etc. Also, the store owner, Mary Spilabottle, has a few pieces of merchandise that was from concerts she attended in the 80's an 90's. Music lovers, this store is for you. How, cool?

For the Record's hours:

Tuesday and Thursday - 11 am - 7 pm

Wednesday and Friday - 10 am - 6 pm

Saturday 8 am - 4 pm

Vinyl record sales have been moving up in sales with younger generations, with more and more vinyl record sales from people under the age of 35. In fact, record players that are mostly now digital, are one of the top 10 presents for a 30 year old, pretty cool. When I was younger, there was nothing better than getting a vinyl record. My first one, "A Charlie Brown's Christmas", the memories come rushing in.

When you step into For the Record you'll spot albums from Santana, Bee Gees, all genres - rare collectables, 8-track tapes, CD's and DVD's, and so much more.

For the Record located at 118 S. Main Street in Forked River.
