7 Celebrities You Didn’t Know Visited The Jersey Shore This Year
Ocean and Monmouth counties may not seem like a hotbed for celebrity sightings, but we actually have quite a few celebrities that roll through our area each year. No, it's not Los Angeles or New York City. But we're certainly not strangers to vacationing celebrities or celebrities making planned visits. So who visited in 2016? We've got a list of some celebrities that were spotted at the Jersey Shore this year.
Sure , there's always good a few good Bruce Springsteen appearance stories throughout the year. Jon Bon Jovi opened a restaurant in Toms River this October. But they're hometown boys after all.
Did you know that tons of celebrities vacation here during the year? Who can blame them with our gorgeous beaches, right? There were also quite a few planned appearances from celebrities. So who visited?
Paul Ryan, House Speaker
Politician visits Toms River for FundraiserHouse Speaker Paul Ryan visited Toms River in October. Ryan was the guest of Ocean County Republican Chairman George R. Gilmore for a private luncheon at Toms River's Aqua Blu, the Asbury Park Press reported. Vice President-elect Mike Pence was scheduled to make a campaign appearance in Toms River this October as well. That appearance was cancelled for undisclosed reasons, according to published reports.
Bobbi Brown, Founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics
Popular makeup expert vacations in Bay HeadThe popular makeup artist and founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is known to vacation in Bay Head. This year was no exception. Of course, based on her Instagram feed it looks like she had some extra company this year. The family was greeted by a large group of swans during the vacation. They didn't want to leave either as evidenced by her posts. A local animal control company, The Bay Head Police, and some lifeguards seemed to be able to help rescue the creatures. They seem to have been safely removed from the scene.
Tracy Morgan, Comedian
'SNL' alum films Netflix special at Count Basie TheatreThe popular comedian recorded a comedy special at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank in late October. The show was part of his 'Picking up the Pieces' tour. Morgan was seriously injured in a 2014 crash on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Popular New York Yankee Appeared at the Ocean County Truck ShowThe New York Yankee appeared at the Lester Glenn Truck Show in October. He signed autographs for fans for 2 hours outside of the Ocean County mall.
Brian Williams, Telvision News Anchor
MSNBC host appeared in Point Pleasant Beach for fundraising concertThe MSNBC television anchor (and host of the 11th Hour) is no stranger to the Jersey Shore. He spent years in Middletown, and he often returns to the Shore for events and vacations. This summer he appeared at Glen Burtnik's Summer of Love Concert in Point Pleasant at Jenks Club. The concert was a fundraiser for the Point Pleasant Beach First Aid Squad. A video posted online shows Williams making some remarks on stage before the concert began.
Dean Strang and Jerry Buting, Lawyers
'Making a Murderer' stars appear for Speaking EngagementMaking a Murderer was one the most popular documentaries in late 2015 and early 2016. Earlier this year the lawyers from the popular series hit the road for a "Conversation on Justice" tour. The tour stopped at Red Bank's Count Basie Theatre in late March. The conversation focused on the case and what the pair feel needed to be changed in the criminal justice system.
Melissa and Joe Gorga, Real Housewives of New Jersey Stars
The couple from the 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Vacation in Toms RiverThe pair often come down the shore. Melissa posted a photo from her mother's house in Toms River during the Easter holiday. Plus, they vacation and spend many summer weekends at their Toms River. NJ.com says the Montville couple have a relatively modest summer house on a lagoon in town. They appear to have posted pictures all summer from the home (like this fourth of July family photo).
