Harrington Moving and Storage recently put together an article that deals with finding the perfect spot in the Garden State to retire. "Ready to discover where to retire in NJ to fit your budget and lifestyle? Here are six of the best communities for NJ retirees, whether you’re looking for affordable New Jersey retirement communities or beachfront living at its best."

So let's look at the BEST 6 places to spend your retirement in New Jersey. The Harrington Moving and Storage article focused on 6 various locations for a perfect retirement and they highlighted what made them a great selection because each location has different advantages. The list is in no particular order.

Lambertville: "Part of the Greater Philadelphia or Delaware Valley area, Lambertville is a small city known for its charming and walkable downtown area. Lambertville is New Jersey’s antiques capital, with small antique shops, boutiques, restaurants, and bed and breakfasts lining its picturesque streets."

Surf City: Half the residents of this beach community are seniors. "You’ll love the walkable town packed with art galleries, gift shops, boutiques, bookshops, restaurants, and fresh seafood."

Little Egg Harbor: "It’s easy to see what makes Little Egg Harbor such an attractive choice for seniors retiring in New Jersey. Nestled along New Jersey’s largest bay and surrounded by Bass River State Forest and wetland preserves, Little Egg Harbor is a dream come true for active adults and outdoor enthusiasts."

Long Beach Township: "Long Beach Township is an affluent New Jersey retirement destination with a median home price of $1.5 million. About 40% of the population is 65 and older, with a median age of 61."

Holiday City at Berkeley: " It’s one of the largest New Jersey retirement communities, with more than 10,000 homes across multiple neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has its own clubhouse, HOA, social clubs, and schedule of activities and events."

Manchester Township: "About 49% of the 45,000 people living in Manchester Township are 65 and older. Why? Because it’s the best place to retire in New Jersey on a budget while staying close to the beach. Manchester is frequently ranked the top place to retire in NJ by Forbes thanks to its low crime, air quality, high number of physicians per resident, median home prices, and more."

On a personal note, I live in Little Egg Harbor, Ocean County, so I am all set for the golden years, when they finally get here.
