A fugitive sweep in Monmouth County takes 46 suspects into custody. The Monmouth County Prosecutors office says the operation took place from Thursday July 18th to Saturday 20th in the Asbury Park and Neptune Township areas. Acting Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni says the raid was an effort to cut down on violent crimes in the vicinity.

The charges include criminal fugitive warrants, municipal bench warrants, drug distribution and possession as well as non-child support payment violations. Gramiccioni says a total of 19 individuals were arrested for non-payment of child support, owing $489,000.

The U.S. Marshals N.Y./N.J. Regional Fugitive Task Force, the FBI, New Jersey State Parole and local police from Asbury Park, Neptune and Neptune City.

Grammiccioni says, "this type of operation is vital to the areas hit hardest with violent crimes, and continues our efforts to capture and convict those responsible for these acts."
