The contest was created by the "Stronger than the Storm" campaign that's trying to drive visitors to the Jersey shore after Superstorm Sandy devastated many beach areas.

Among the four judges named Wednesday were Adam Blackstone, musical director for Justin Timberlake and Nikki Minaj, and Evan Lipschutz, owner of echo Entertainment and the A&R executive for several bands.

The other judges are Jay Barnings, associate at Flatiron/Borman Management, and pianist and pop music artist Eric Robert Lewis, better known by his stage name ELEW.

Contestants must be New Jersey residents. The winner will perform at a Sept. 7 shore concert, opening for a yet to be announced major music act.
