For the first 5 years I had a Mommy Blog about my daughter Abby’s life and what it was like for me as a first time Mommy.  Well now she’s a 7 year old Diva and I’ve decided to bring back the Mommy Blog.  Her life and what she does is just so funny, it’s too funny not to talk about or write about!  It’s time to share our adventures with you again.  Wow, I can't believe she's almost 8.  Time flies.  Sue's Mommy Blog Abby's in Second Grade and I'll tell you what..the Math homework is confusing.  come on Mom's and Dad's I know you know what I'm talking about.  The school's are using Everyday Mathematics.  At least our school is using this where when we were younger and still to this day when I add, I start from the right side.  Now they start from the left side, with the 10's or the 100 or the 1000 spot.  It's a crazy way of learning it, but Abs is getting it.  I'm the one that's confused because for so long and my entire life I've been adding so differently.  To me it's almost like they're adding more to get to the answer.  But teachers would argue with me that it's easier.  I'd love to see my parents try this, they'd be like, "What the heck is this"?  I think next time they visit, we're going to do a Math assignment.

I just wanted to show you last nights homework.  Shapes..easy right?  Well there are "gons and "angles" I've never even heard of.  I know I'm not that bad in Math...but geez.  We had to find these shapes in magazines.  I'm familiar with triangles, octagons, pentagons and hexagons.  But why is it in my 42 years of life have I never heard of a QUADRANGLE or a HEPTAGON?  Did I not listen in school?  And Abby is only in Second Grade, oh my goodness, we have a long way to go.

Do you find homework confusing?  Do I need to go back to Elementary School?
