Union Beach Storm Victim Checks Property; Finds Squatters
Police say a Union Beach woman returned to check on her home that was damaged in Superstorm Sandy and found squatters inside with drugs and jewelry stolen from other storm victims.
Detective Sgt. Michael Woodrow tells the Asbury Park Press the woman discovered three people inside her Union Beach home Thursday.
Police said the three had a large amount of heroin.
Twenty-four-year-old Thomas Erickson and 23-year-old Brianne O'Brien, both of Keansburg, were arrested. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 24-year-old Lindsay Krick of Hazlet, who police say fled before they arrived.
The three are charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, burglary, obstruction, and drug related charges.
It is not clear if they have retained lawyers.
