Police arrest the mother and grandmother of an East Dover Elementary School student after they entered a school bus and allegedly assaulted two boys.

Toms River Police say 28-year-old Rebecca Sardoni entered the bus Friday morning at the corner of Martin and 1st streets to allegedly curse out and slap a 9-year-old boy. Sardoni's mother, 51-year-old Stephanie Sardoni, also allegedly entered the bus to yell at the boy and his seat mate.

Witnesses stated that the mother was using vulgarity in front of all the students and referred to a problem with her daughter and that she was going to take the young boys to court.

The boys were treated for cuts to their mouths by school nurses. One was taken to Community Medical Center for treatment of a neck injury. Rebecca Sardoni faces simple assault, criminal trespass and terroristic threats. Her mother is charged with criminal trespass, Both were released on a summons.

The investigation by School Resource Officer Pam Slaven, Detective Glen Lucas and Alex Scherer is continuing. The Department compliments the professional assistance they received from Superintendent Frank Roselli and East Dover Principal Linda Downing and their staff in investigating this incident.
