Whether you currently live in Toms River, you have in the past, the town has affected your life in any way, or you like food and parties, you are cordially invited to celebrate Toms Rivers' milestone.

What better way to celebrate the wonderful town of Toms River than with gourmet food trucks with samples of barbecue, seafood, empanadas and more. For those with a sweet tooth, you can't go without the classics like funnel cake and fried Oreos.

As if food wasn't enough to celebrate the 250th anniversary, guests can shop at vendor booths from local businesses and participate in arts and crafts. Live entertainment will be provided by four great bands throughout the day.

Don't think this event is just for those who can remember Toms River back in the day when the Garden State Parkway opened in 1954 (63 years ago), there will be plenty of fun for the younger crowd too. Kid-friendly rides, a rock climbing wall, and face painting will keep the youngsters busy all day long.

Recreation Director Jared Tate said, "Toms River Food Festival offers something for everyone; live music, gourmet food from great food trucks, free kids rides and shopping. The event grows bigger and bigger every year. We are hoping for nice weather and a great turnout."

After you grab some food from the food trucks, if you're 21 and older, you can stop by the beer and wine garden.

For those of you who enjoy the more historic side of remembering the 250 years of Toms River, there will be a display of the Township Charter, which is the legal document that created Toms River in 1767.

"People will be able to read the charter, sign a replica, and take home a copy of the charter," explained J. Mark Mutter, Township Clerk and Historian.

This event and others like it are all leading up to the big event June 24th, the rededication of Huddy Park.
