The 87th Annual Academy Awards are coming up on Sunday, and there's one movie in particular that I'm hoping takes home some statuettes.

I've been paying particular attention to the results this awards season. I got a chance to see almost all of the major nominees for the various awards - SAG Awards, Golden Globes, and The Oscars, and there's one in particular that I completely loved.

I thought that "The Grand Budapest Hotel" was absolutely fantastic.

I thought it was funny, clever, charming, and most important of all, original.

There are so many movies these days that seem formulaic. I feel like there isn't a whole lot of creativity and original ideas in Hollywood these days, but "Grand Budapest" is utterly original.

While it's funny, sometimes even bordering on silly, it's also a not so thinly veiled commentary on war and post-war struggles.

I don't think it'll necessarily win Best Picture, "Birdman" and "Boyhood" have been the critical darlings this awards season, so I suspect that one of them will take home the top prize, but I think that "Grand Budapest" definitely deserves recognition. It's nominated for a number of the big awards in addition to Best Picture; Best Original Screenplay and Best Director among the 9 nominations.

If you haven't gotten a chance to check it out, obviously, I highly recommend "The Grand Budapest Hotel".

We'll see who takes home the gold on Sunday at 7pm on ABC.
