As we anticipate our first snowfall of 2017, some may be looking forward to the dusting that's about to befall Ocean County. But others (myself included) will be grumbling about it. But when we look at the country as a whole, at least we can take solace in the fact that it could be worse.

While we can probably expect snowfall in the range of 1-3 inches between the overnight hours Thursday into Friday, Ocean County Emergency Officials have the trucks and snow-melting gear ready to go.

Meteorologist Dan Zarrow is still saying snow for tonight.  There are no advisories issued for tonight's snow.  It could be an icy commute for Friday our morning.

Six years ago today the Jersey Shore was battling a crazy snowstorm as the Boxing Day Blizzard was getting underway here.

So this past week, here at the Jersey Shore, we have seen crazy weather...with extreme low temps followed by unusually warm weather. Within 24-48 hours we went from temps feeling like below zero to feeling like the mid 60's .... ...

It wasn't a lot of snow, but Jack Frost made an appearance here at the Jersey Shore. It does add do the feeling of Christmas with a little of the white stuff, so show us your snow this morning ... maybe make for a pretty morning photo today on a cold blustery day in Ocean and Monmouth Counties ... ...

Tis' the season! I just had to share this video my friend shot earlier this evening! Don't you just love snow when it's not causing cancellations and delays? I do. This video was taken on Route 88 in Brick around five o'clock this evening. Unfortunately, the snow stopped after a few minutes, but it was certainly mesmerizing...

Do you follow the Farmer's Almanac? Some swear by their predictions, while others dismiss them and pay no attention. I must say that my curiosity always peaks when the Almanac comes out with the Winter predictions.
