U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone praised the Coast Guard's swift response to the reports of tar balls found at Seven Presidents Park in Long Branch and in Monmouth Beach.
The culinary scene in New Jersey is making headlines with the emergence of a new restaurant, recently honored as one of the best in the United States for 2023.
The tar balls were first found at Seven Presidents Park in Long Branch and in Monmouth Beach on Nov. 27 with similar oil debris found on the shoreline in Brooklyn and Staten Island.
The Stephanie Parze Foundation donated a portable dental X-Ray machine to the NJSP Forensic Anthropology Unit and a K9 named "Sparze"to the State Police Special Operations Unit.
The Coast Guard in a statement said response crews have removed approximately 1,000 pounds of tar balls and oiled debris from impacted beaches between Asbury Park and Sea Bright.
