About a half-dozen animal activists against the killing of Canada geese were at the Ocean County Freeholder's meeting Tuesday afternoon. They were in for a surprise announcement from the Board that the program is currently on hold, at least for the rest of 2012.

Animal activists and residents flock to the Ocean County Administration Building in Toms River last night for the Freeholder's meeting.  They were there in protest of a controversial method used to control the Canada geese population.  Emotions ran high from those who feel it's inhumane and not necessary.  The Freeholders don't see it that way.

Debate over how to deal with the problem of Canada Geese throughout Ocean County is taken to the  board of Freeholders as an animal rights group asks to change the way things are done.
