Two Men Rescued From Burning Boat in Barnegat Light

Two unidentified men are safe after being rescued from a burning small pleasure boat in the Barnegat Bay late Monday afternoon. Coast Guard Petty Officer First Class Nick Ameen said the men were spotted by a Good Samaritan near the west end of the Double Creek Channel in Barnegat Light and taken on their boat until the Coast Guard arrived

Watch An Amazing 800lb Sea Turtle Rescue off The NJ Coast [Video]

 

A Coast Guard crew out of Cape May and members of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine were unexpectedly called into action this past weekend when a massive leatherback sea turtle was spotted about 30 miles offshore entangled in a fishing net. The 800lb beast was successfully freed by the crew and swam back off into the Atlantic. Watch the video of the rescue below:

Body Found by Fisherman Off Sandy Hook

A fisherman makes a gruesome discovery in the very busy Ambrose Channel early Monday morning. According to the Asbury Park Press, the fisherman spotted a man's body floating in the channel, secured it with a rope and towed it to the U.S. Coast Guard Sandy Hook Station at around 6:30 a.m.
