The runup to a busy tourism season is already under way, and Jenkinson's in Point Pleasant Beach is looking for quality summer help. The perennial tourism attraction has scores of opportunities up for grabs at its annual Summer Job Fair this weekend.

Interviews are being given at the two day event for spots in beach maintenance, game and ride operations, cashiers, arcade posts, beach badge checkers, security, ice cream scoopers, pizza bakers, counter help and more.

Christine Karaska of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development underscores the fact that the people who fill these jobs are the face of the Jersey shore for millions of visitors. They're the first and most lasting impression that often determines whether a family has had a great time...and that often informs their decisions for future vacations.

There are also a limited number of jobs for teens age 14 and 15. Christine says that it's a great addition to a still-developing resume.

She recommends dressing as though you'd be meeting the head of a company - because you will be. Jackets, ties and dresses aren't entirely necessary, but business casual is always a go. Bring a current resume, two forms of identification, social security number, and a pen. Teens still in school should tote along details about certificates or academic honors they've earned. Jenkinson's is looking for the best and the brightest.

It takes place March 3 and and March 11, 12 Noon until 3 PM, at Jenkinson's Pavilion, 300 Ocean Avenue. Reach Christine at 732-793-5060. She recommends downloading the application and filling it out ahead of time. Link to it at http://myjenkssouth.com.
