As Shawn & I get ready to broadcast from our 92.7 WOBM Beach Studio at Seaside Park, there are some changes as we open the beach this year.

Last week, boardwalks opened and many, many people got out this weekend to walk on the boardwalks of Seaside Heights and Seaside Park, hopefully while social distancing.

SEASIDE HEIGHT'S Phase 2 Re-Opening from their website exit82.com:

Beach & Boardwalk / Phase 2 May 23 – June 30

*1. The following gates will be open 7am for access to the boardwalk and limited access to the beach (9am): Blaine Avenue, Franklin Avenue, Dupont Avenue, Hiering Avenue, Carteret Avenue, and Hancock Avenue.

*2. No swimming (red flags). No coolers. No dogs.

*3. A season beach badge or senior beach badge will be required for beach entry. Season beach badges and senior beach badges must be purchased using the Viply smartphone app or through Viply’s website. There will be no sales of beach badges on the boardwalk. We do not anticipate selling daily wristbands during Phase 2.

*4. Beach will be cleared at 5pm.

*5. Boardwalk will be cleared at 11pm and access gates locked.

*6. Social distancing required. Wearing a face mask is encouraged but not required unless a superseding State order requiring face masks is issued.

*7. No gatherings or groups of 10 or more people.

*8. Public restrooms will be open on a limited basis.

*9. Shower pedestals and water fountains will remain shrink wrapped and unavailable.

*10. The public is encouraged not to touch handrails and not to sit on benches.

Beach & Boardwalk / Phase 2 & 3

*Beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, beach badges will be required for entry to the beach AND boat ramp passes will be required for 14th Ave boat ramp WEEKENDS ONLY UNTIL JUNE 30th. Social distancing will be required and strictly enforced in conjunction with Seaside Park Beach Control and Seaside Park Police Department.

-a. Beach badges will only be required on the weekends until June 29th at which time the beaches will go “full time”.

-b. ALL beach badge sales will be conducted at the Beach Control building on the boardwalk between N and O streets AND outside the Seaside Park Police Station between 6th and 7th Aves. Boat ramp passes (both daily and seasonal) can be purchased at the Beach Control building, outside the Seaside Park Police Station, and at the 14th Ave Boat Ramp location.

-c. Multiple free parking spots will be made available for badge sales ONLY.

-d. Coolers MUST NOT contain glass or alcohol.

*The number of Daily Beach Badge Sales will be monitored and limits will be made as needed.

-a. Governing Body and Borough Clerk will be alerted of any changes and limits made.

-b. Public will be made aware via the website, reverse 911, etc.

*Beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, lifeguards will be on duty weekends ONLY until June 29th at which time the beach will be “full time”. Social distancing will be strongly encouraged while in the water.

*No gatherings of 10 or more people will be permitted on the beach and boardwalk for any reason.

*Public Restrooms will be available and hours will be limited in conjunction with beach operations. ***ALL PLANS SUBJECT TO BEING SUPERSEDED BY STATE MANDATE***

*Boardwalk will be opened to the public. Social distancing is required and will be strictly enforced.

*Bayside beaches will be closed including the 5th Ave playground.

*14th Ave Bay pier, boat ramp, and 5th Ave pier will be opened on a limited basis. Once capacity is reached, it will be closed until further notice. Social distancing is required and will be strictly enforced.

* ALL BEACH AND BAY LOCATIONS WILL BE OPEN FROM 10 AM UNTIL 5 PM ON THE WEEKENDS. Beach, Boardwalk, and Bay - Phase II (June 29 - Ongoing)
