A recently released report from ValuePenguin.com ranked the top 100 New Jersey towns on two levels. Safest and least safest towns.

They used information from the following categories:

  • Violent Crimes (rape,robbery,and aggravated assault)
  • Property Based Crimes (burglaries and vehicle thefts)

Here are the top "Safest" towns

  1. Fair Haven (Monmouth County)
  2. Plumstead Twp (Ocean County)
  3. Colts Neck (Monmouth County)
  4. Rumson (Monmouth County)
  5. Manalapan (Monmouth County)
  6. Marlboro (Monmouth County)
  7. Waretown (Ocean County)

Safest in the state was New Hanover Township (Burlington County)

Least Safest

  1. Asbury Park (Monmouth County)
  2. Neptune (Monmouth County)
  3. Belmar (Monmouth County)
  4. Long Branch (Monmouth County)
  5. Toms River (Ocean County)
  6. Ocean Twp. (Monmouth County)
  7. Keansburg (Monmouth County)
  8. Red Bank (Monmouth County)
  9. Keyport (Monmouth County)

Least safest in the state was Wildwood (Cape May County)
