Recall Petitions Rejected in Asbury Park

Too little too late in an attempt by some Asbury Park residents to get the Mayor and two council members ejected from office. According to the Asbury Park Press, the City Clerk rejected recall petitions filed Monday saying they were in too late to meet the County's September 13th deadline for getting the recall questions on the ballot.

Approximately 2,644 signatures were submitted for Mayor Ed Johnson, Councilman John Loffredo and Councilwoman Susan Henderson who are serving four-year terms that end in 2013.
