Wednesday’s jackpot will have a cash value of $226.3 million.
The jackpot will likely go higher as occasional players will likely try their luck at playing. In anticipation of the August 7 drawing Powerball tickets sold at a rate of nearly $3200 worth per minute in New Jersey according to the New Jersey Lottery.
Saturday’s jackpot was the fastest to reach at least $300 million mark, accomplishing the feat in 10 drawings according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. No one has won the Powerball jackpot since August 7. It’s the fourth time this year the jackpot has reached that mark.
