Passengers Rescued from Sinking Boat off Cape May
Five people are safe after being rescued from a sinking boat about 35 miles east of Cape May Sunday afternoon, according to the Coast Guard.
A person aboard the 34-foot center console vessel was able to radio for help around noon. The Coast Guard responded with a helicopter and two boat crews.
The boat had taken on about three feet of water by the time help arrived. Once the flooding was under control, the Coast Guard escorted the boat to Schooner Island Marina.
