Ocean Plastic Surgery and Laser Center–My Laser Experience
Ok ladies, I'm really liking these laser treatments that I'm getting for my face. I can't believe I'm actually doing it.
At the bottom of the blog find out how you can get a free Erbium treatment!
It's just something I've thought about but never did. I turned 41 this year and I have some of those brown spots and I find my skin a little dull. I'd love to brighten it up a little. So I sat down with Dr. Small and he explained it to me and helped me pick the best treatment for me. My first procedure was a couple of weeks ago. His nurse Mickey and the Dr. made me feel so comfortable. I have to be honest, I was nervous. I've never done anything like this before. I've had girlfriends that have had some laser treatments and get botox but never for myself. I'm not sure about the botox thing, but that's your preference. But these lasers work good. I've had the Erbium treatment for pores, skin texture and fine wrinkles. And also I've had the v-Beam for redness and rosacea. Rosacea runs in my family and I'd love to reduce the redness that comes with that.
Each person's face is different and mine is so sensitive, so I have to be honest with you the first time I had the treatment it stung a little. And one of the treatments has this flash with the laser so I had to wear goggle thingies to protect my eyes, and that treatment caught me by surprise the first time I had that, I didn't know what to expect. The Second time getting that treatment I knew what to expect and no problems at all. A day later after the treatment it started to peel off, my top layer, sort of like a sun burn. Dr. Small called me the next day just to check on me (he does this with all of his patients) and I asked him about the peeling and he said that's perfectly normal. My second treatment was yesterday and my face was red and warm and there was a little bit of bruising today. That's what the Dr. said would happen. It's basically like with these lasers-- the first layer of skin on your face is fresh and new, so it will be more sensitive. So depending on how sensitive your skin is, you'll have a different outcome then me. My skin is so sensitive, which surprises me, because when I was younger I had alligator skin, which means I was in the sun with baby oil. Can you believe that? Yep, baby oil. Maybe you did too?
I have one more treatment to go. That will be in 3 weeks. But I'm so excited because next week I'm getting my first Micro-Dermabrasion Facial at Ocean Plastic Surgery and Laser Center. So I'll let you know how that goes.
Over all the experience of meeting Dr. Small and Mickey and the rest of the staff was great. Whatever questions you might have..Dr. Small is able to answer any of your laser and / or plastic surgery questions.
And don't forget about that unwanted hair on the upper lip or the arm pit. I had 1 laser treatment under my arm pit and I haven't had to shave for 4 weeks. It really works. Depending on how coarse your hair is, it might take 2 or 3 treatments, but you will be happy.
The procedures are quick, less then an hour.
