WOODBURY — A 26-year-old woman was found killed in a city home that she had been housesitting, officials said Tuesday.

Shawneeq M. Carter, of Camden, was found 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Hopkins Street home.

The Gloucester County Medical Examiner's Office said the cause of her death was blunt force trauma.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office said the home owner was not in the area when the body was discovered.

Authorities did not reveal other details Tuesday.

Her Facebook account and condolences posted by acquaintances indicate that she was a mother of a 5-year-old boy.

Officials ask anyone with possible information about what happened to call Detective Warren Rivell of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office at 856-384-5625 or Detective Carl Villone of the Woodbury City Police Department at 856-845-0065.
