Nala and Simba–Shawn & Sue’s Pet of the Week

This lovely couple is Nala and Simba, two hound mixes that would just love a wonderful home of their own, where they can stay together forever. Nala, a brown female, is about 5 years old and Simba, a black and tan male, is about 6. They came to us from our Newark facility after they were given up by their family who could no longer care for them. The sweet and mellow couple were a bit distraught when they first arrived and understandably so. It was as if they kept looking around, wondering what they were doing here and when they would go home. Once they settled in, they both began to relax and make friends, and now, they enjoy laying outside on a breezy day together, taking a stroll together with a new friend, and roaming around our exercise yard, taking in all the scents and sounds. Nala and Simba are very well behaved and mature. They both walk well on a leash and will sit instantly when asked. They are very gentle with treats and don't have much interest in toys. Nala and Simba are interested in other dogs but will need a home with no cats. The two are very bonded with each other and will need a loving, safe home where they can stay together for the rest of their lives.
