Kasahn Mason, 33, of Neptune, and Rachel Parker, 19, of Belford, were charged with receiving and fencing stolen property by Manchester Township police.

Mason was placed in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold and Parker was sent to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River. Bail for each was set at $7,500 with no option for release on payment of 10 percent.

Police said the scrapyard operator notified them on March 12 that he found the attempted transaction in the Briar Hill apartment complex suspicious.

The 1998 Toyota Sienna was reported stolen in Pittston, Pennsylvania, police said. Shortly after notice was issued to surrounding counties, Mason and Parker were arrested on unrelated charges by Neptune City officers who notified Manchester, police said.

Mason and Parker are also accused of pawning the minivan's global positioning system.
