One hundred employers seeking potential workers in fields such as hospitality, health care, finance, education, telecommunications, computer science and more will be on hand in Collins Arena, 765 Newman Springs Road, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"We only allow employers to come if they have job openings available that can be filled immediately," said Monmouth County freeholder Serena DiMaso. "So, that is a big attraction for people that are looking for a job because most people want to be employed right away."

Last year, the event attracted more than 1,200 people, and DiMaso said 25 of them were hired on the spot.

There is no charge for employers to attend the job fair.

"We only ask they make sure that they have a job opening that can be filled that day or within the next two or three weeks," DiMaso said.

DiMaso believes the job fairs offered by the county are helping to turn the economy around.

"Not only do we have employers there ready and willing to hire on the spot, we also have people who will help prospective candidates with their resume writing, with building a portfolio, with giving them tips on how to do a job interview, and the like," she said.

Job seekers interested in meeting one-on-one with resume professionals to review portfolios should register at the beginning of the job fair for the 15-minute personal e-review. The consultations will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.
