Middletown week-long road repaving starts Monday

Drivers accustomed to plying West Front Street in Middletown can expect a five-day detour starting July 6 during repaving.

The thoroughfare gets a new layer of asphalt from Middletown Lincroft Road to Half-Mile Road in a project that's expected to wrap up July 10.

Work is scheduled to take place between 7 AM and 5 PM daily. Township traffic officials say sections of the road will be closed for milling and paving as work advances toward Half Mile Road.

New Jersey American Water is repaving the road to complete its capital improvement project begun in 2014.

Normandy Road will be accessible between West Front Street and Nut Swamp Road only during actual work hours, officials said.
