Meet Red and Dewey-Shawn & Sue’s Pet of the Week
These cuties are waiting for their forever home!
There very special boys, Red and Dewey, are ready to begin their search for the wonderful home that they've been dreaming of their whole lives. Red and Dewey are two of many dogs that were living in the most horrid conditions at a residence in Lakewood, NJ, where they were terribly neglected and living in squalor for many years. These two boys were covered in feces and mats when they arrived and required extensive grooming and medical care, but look at them now! The boys are doing very well and we have found out that they are very bonded with one another, so we would love to find a home where they can stay together forever. Red is a 5 year old golden retriever and Dewey is a 6 year old golden/shepherd mix. Dewey is nearly blind from a congenital deformity, but gets around very well and will not need any treatment in the future for it. The boys are learning to live normal, healthy lives now and are still quite shy, but are very happy, playful, loving pups when they get to know you. Red absolutely loves to run and play and Dewey is quite content to roam around and check things out. Both boys are super sweet and bond quickly with new friends. They will need a more quiet, commotion-free home, and one without small children. They are fine with other dogs and due to Dewey's vision loss, they will need a home that is easy to navigate.
