‘Like’ the Energy Hog and help NJ Natural Gas feed the hungry
As the fall chills turn into winter frost, we'll be racing to turn up the heat and drink hot cocoa, but New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) has a new initiative which not only helps save you money on energy but feeds the hungry.
Starting this week and continuing every Tuesday until December 6, NJNG will be posting a photo on their Facebook page of 'The Energy Hog.' You don't have to actually like the energy slob, but click "Like" for the photo, and you can help them fight hunger.
"Each photo will represent the 'Hog' wasting energy," explains Junior Communications Associate Deidre DeGisi. "Along with the photo we'll post a tip on how you can save energy throughout the holiday season."
NJNG will be partnering with Alliance to Save Energy (ASE) on this promotion of energy efficiency and community involvement.
So as you log onto Facebook everyday or every Tuesday, be sure to check the New Jersey Natural Gas page for these energy tips, and 'like' to help them fight hunger.
"Just 'like' us on Facebook so that you can be sure to see the photos each week," explains DeGisi. "The more 'likes' we get, the more money we can donate to the food-banks."
DeGisi explains that the relationship between NJNG spans more than recent communications.
"We have a longstanding relationship with them," said DeGisi. "We just figured with the holiday season coming, it would be a good way to get the word out to give them more money and donations."
As for this weeks energy saving tip, DeGisi says, "this weeks tip is to use LED lights instead of incandescent."
