It wasn't quite a road she was driving on. In fact it wasn't one.

Berkeley Township Police say Denise Stiebris, 59, of Ocean Gate was under the influence of alcohol when she drove her 2017 black Hyundai Elantra on a trail into the woods and then into the backyard of someone's house on Livingston Avenue on April 11.

Officers who responded to the home, say Stiebris appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and had gotten lost while driving on a trail in the woods which led her to the back yard of the residence.

They then ran the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which led to her arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.

She's been charged with DWI as well as Reckless and Careless Driving and her car was impounded as per John's Law.

Stiebirs was processed at headquarters and then brought to Community Medical Center for treatment.
