The suspect in the robbery of a TD Bank branch in Howell late Monday night leaves behind a valuable clue that police hope will jog the memory of someone who views it. They believe that it might be only the latest in a bank-job spree in Monmouth and Middlesex Counties.

According to authorities, the individual spotted in surveillance images at about 11:20 PM at the branch on Route 9 South smashed through a large side window, forced his way inside, pried open the coin-counting machine and stole change.

Police say the suspect might also be responsible for similar heists at TD branches in Marlboro, Hazlet and Old Bridge in the past week. He appears to be a white male, in his 40s, overweight and average height. He'd been seen wearing pink gloves and covering his face and neck with a camouflage-type bandanna.

If you recognize him or are aware of the incident, reach Howell PD Detective Chris Nagy, 732-938-4575, ext. 2892. You can also follow chatter on the Howell Township Police Facebook page.
