Hermann Meetings Postponed At Rutgers

A series of meetings at Rutgers University scheduled next week with incoming Athletic Director have been postponed.

The Star Ledger reports that the meetings, scheduled for next week with members of the athletic department and coaches, were to coincide with a visit to campus from Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany. A Rutgers spokeswoman told the paper she had no knowledge of the meetings.

Hermann is scheduled to become the new Athletic Director on June 17.

A Conversation At The Statehouse

University President Robert Barchi, under fire for his handling of the series of problems in the athletic department, met with New Jersey state Senate President Steve Sweeney to discuss "the current state of affairs at Rutgers University, particularly with the school’s athletic department" according to a statement issued by Sweeney.  The Democrat characterized the 20 minute meeting as "a good conversation"  and that he "appreciated his candor.”

Barchi nor Sweeney offered details about their meeting.
