Reading about the Civil War tells us what happened, but no amount of adjectives can express the stress, pain, anxiety, fear...or even the small windows of sunlight in the dark years between North and South. This Sunday in Monmouth's Ocean Township, young actors bring the scenario to life for you.

During the Ocean Township Museum's seventh annual History Ghost Walk, they'll "channel" local figures with consequential roles in the War Between The States. Among those telling their tales are Nurse Mary Dunbar and General Horace Porter, both buried in West Long Branch, and Dr. William Newell, friend to Abraham and Mary Lincoln.

President Lincoln and his First Lady, personified by Bob Costello and Cheryl Mustaschio, will add their perspectives as well.

The museum on Deal Road will be open, with an assortment of seasonal hand-crafted items for sale.

Admission fees help support the museum's programs and operations. Adults get in for $10, children for $5.
