TRENTON - A disoriented 74-year-old woman is missing, and New Jersey State Police have issued a Silver Alert. Police say the black female suffers Alzheimer's Disease and seizures and was last seen on West Sixth Street in Roselle, presumed to be en route to a doctor's office in Roselle Park. She's described as 5'4", 141 pounds, with black eyes and white hair, wearing a plum-colored skirt and framed glasses, and driving a 1997 green Nissan Altima with New Jersey plates ZKN69D. If you see her, call 911.

WALL - A sign of upswing in New Jersey's economy, American industry and alternative energy growth, right in Wall Township opened this morning at Trinity Solar's new headquarters, estimated to be the third largest of its kind in the country.

BARNEGAT - No safaris in the township today. Police spent most of the morning wrestling with rumors of a tiger on the loose that popped up on Facebook and other social media. They even did some big game hunting, but found no oversized stray cats.

LITTLE EGG HARBOR - A township teen's struggle with cancer inspires not one, but two bone marrow registry drives. Lauren Matta's friends and family seek potential donors tomorrow at the Little Egg Harbor American Legion Post 493. Then, next Wednesday, Nichole Huber of  Bayada Pediatrics Home Care runs a day-long swab drive at her office in Freehold.

FAIR HAVEN - Former borough Mayor Michael Halfacre succeeds Jerry Fischer as Director of New Jersey's Alcoholic Beverage Commission. His confirmation was delivered today after last month's nomination by Governor Chris Christie. The laywer, 45, has also served as municipal attorney in Rumson and Little Silver, and briefly sought the Republican nomination to run for Congress against incumbent Rush Holt in the 12th District in 2009.

BAYVILLE - A Bayville 26-year-old faces 28 federal charges of distributing kiddie porn through the internet. Dwayne Tucker, charged with possession last December, Is now accused of spreading hundreds of images through a file-sharing program and e-mails from june through november 2010. Each distribution count carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years.

TOMS RIVER - A Toms River man is shot by police in Monroe Township after he refused to put down a gun. Officers found 69-year-old Ronald Richards sitting in a car with a gun in a driveway outside a house yesterday and ordered him to drop his weapon. Richards is in stable condition at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. The officer wasn't harmed. The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating.

TOMS RIVER - One complaint too many about submarine sandwiches gets a Toms River woman in trouble with the law. Police say they charged Jennifer Eberling with theft by deception after saying she was sickened by a sub and demanded a refund receiving $18. Further investigation uncovered that Eberling had made similar claims and demands at a number of other area sub shops. She was also held on warrants out of Brick and Lakewood.

TOMS RIVER - No word yet on what caused a massive blaze in a Toms River home. No one was injured in Thursday afternoon's Grand Avenue house fire but two pet birds died. Flames were seen shooting from the second floor of the bi-level dwelling.

BARNEGAT - Granny scammers reach their clammy hooks into Barnegat Township. Police say some folks have already fallent victim to callers claiming to be grandchildren in jail who need bail money, or foreign government officials ordering a wire transfer of cash. Police urge you to get as much information as possible, offer no relatives' names, and call them at 609-698-5000 if you suspect a hoax.

TRENTON - New Jersey officials say they're satisfied that the state's nuclear power stations are running safely and have adequate emergency protection...but offer suggestions in response to the Japanese nuclear disaster. The Governor's task force seeks federally-authorized safety upgrades, bolster protections around spent fuel pools, find quicker ways to notify residents and coordinate regional drills with New York and Pennsylvania.

TRENTON - New Jersey kids at risk of substance abuse would have the great outdoors as an antidote, under a shore sponsored bill awaiting legislative votes. The Future Fisherman Foundation's Hooked-On-Fishing-Not-On-Drugs program has operated in Ocean County for 12 years. Now, State Senator Chris Connors and Assembly members Dianne Gove and Brian Rumpf want to open it to all 21 counties, through the Division Of Fish And Wildlife, funded through fines paid by convicted drug offenders

HAMILTON - Hamilton Township Deputy Mayor Charles Cain pays heavily for dwi and refusing to take a breath test last October. A municipal judge ordered a total of nine months license suspension, six months of an ignition interlock when he gets it back plus a 12-hour remedial program and more than $500 in fines. Police say he nearly hit a squad car when he was flagged down.
