Freehold Police Investigate Fatal Stabbing

Police are investigating a stabbing murder that claimed the life of a 44-year-old borough man Friday night.

Reports say he was stabbed in front of the Rug Mill Deli on Jackson St. around 8:50 p.m.  The deli is right down the road from the Freehold Borough Police Station.

The victim was rushed to CentraState Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police are not releasing any further details at this time.
