Former Marlboro Hospital To Become Open Space

The former Marlboro psychiatric hospital on Route 520 will undergo a complete conversion.

State officials announce Friday the hospital will become open space and recreational land. The state Economic Development Authority is funding the project to turn the 411 acres into a park system.

Right now, their focus is to start demolition and clean up the area to meet environmental standards. The work is estimated to cost $27 million dollars and will take place over the next two years.
