Former Holmdel Committeeman Candidate Dies

Recent Holmdel committeeman candidate Brian McFarland is dead after falling in his home this morning.

Patch.com reports McFarland fell from a ladder he was climbing in his back yard. McFarland, 51, fell from a distance equal to about two stories onto his backyard porch, in an effort to string a warming cable to prevent ice build-up according to  the website.

McFarland was active in the community and was a youth coach active with Scouts  as well as a member of the Executive Board of Citizens for Informed Land Use (CILU) and was an active supporter of Friends of Holmdel Open Space (FOHOS).
