The FAAN Walk For Food Allergy is coming up here at the Jersey Shore

The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN™) was established in 1991 by Anne Muñoz-Furlong, at a time when information about food allergies was difficult to find. Anne's daughter was diagnosed with milk and egg allergy, and founding FAAN was a way of providing education and support to the many other parents who needed help managing food allergy.

FAAN is now the most trusted source of information, programs, and resources related to food allergy and anaphylaxis. Its membership now stands at approximately 22,000 worldwide and includes families, dietitians, nurses, physicians, school staff, and representatives from government agencies and the food and pharmaceutical industries. FAAN serves as the communication link between the patient and others.

Located in Fairfax, VA, FAAN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. FAAN is funded through membership dues, sale of materials, donations, and grants.

Nov. 2011 marked FAAN’s 20th anniversary in serving the food allergy community. Among FAAN’s accomplishments in its 20-year history are its involvement in historic legislation regarding food labeling, its creation of the widely recognized initiative, Food Allergy Awareness Week, its educational programs taught in schools across the country, and the formation of the Research Grant Program. We will continue to work diligently to educate the public about the severity of food allergy and provide the food allergy community with tools and programs that it deserves.
