A Howell Township home is destroyed after flames ripped through attic of the residence Tuesday night, according to police.

The fire at 92 Cascades Avenue broke out around 10:30 p.m. according to Howell Police Sgt. Eileen Dodd in a statement.

Sgt. Dodd said homeowners, Gregory and Lauren White, were getting ready for bed when they heard a persistent, strange noise and located a burning smell.

The family got out safely and noticed smoke coming from the attic vents as they evacuated.  No one was injured.

Several agencies responded to the call, including Ramtown Fire Company, Squankum Fire Company, Adelphia Fire company, Southard Fire Company, Freewood Acres Fire Company, South Wall Fire Rescue, Howell First Aid, Ramtown First Aid, Howell Fire Bureau and the Howell Office of Emergency Management.

The Howell Township Fire Bureau is investigating the fire.
