Dry Weather Increases Fire Danger Again Today
Conditions are still optimum for wild fires to spread rapidly today.
The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for the entire state until early eveing as the potential is great due to low relative humidity and dry fine fuels.
The difference today is that winds will not be as strong today as they were yesterday.
Small brush fires broke out around the state including Spring Lake & Middletown, both of which were brought under control quickly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended as a fire could spread and burn quickly out of control making it difficult to contain.
Wildfires were a problem last spring with fires flaring up in the Meadowlands, Barnegat, the Pinelands and along the Atlantic City Expressway.
